It will still be possible for a bit less three weeks, to watch the documentary film “Propaganda – The Art of Selling Lies“, which is being broadcast on ETV2.

Larry Weinstein’s 58-minute work is a fast-paced overview of the history, nature and uses of propaganda. The film travels along the most important milestones in the history of propaganda, describes them or interviews the key characters of those moments.

At the beginning of the film, it states that this film is a story of warning and a call to action at a dangerous moment in our history, and it is compellingly demonstrated during the next hour.

For example, it discusses Alexander the Great and his role in the history of propaganda, the church’s footprint in propaganda, the role of film and art in persuading people, the support provided by social media in manipulating people, and many other topics that reveal the nature of propaganda.

The film features Jim Fitzpatrick, the creator of Che Guevara’s iconic poster, Shepard Fairey, the creator of a similar Obama campaign poster, Barry Blitt, a legendary cartoonist from The New Yorker, and many other historical figures.

The film is on the one hand an overview of the impact of propaganda on the formation of societies and on the other hand a warning about its consequences for humanity.

The film premiered in the spring of 2019.
