Oleg Bessedin, administrator of the influential Facebook group Таллиннцы (Tallinners), shared a Russian-language statement from the U.S. Embassy, adding his own commentary: “According to unofficial information, Professor Kalt and his entourage are particularly interested in two sensitive issues: the situation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Estonia, whose sanctuaries are targeted, clergy under pressure, and congregants under suspicion.”
Oleg Bessedin Captures the Russian YouTube Market with the Help of Kremlin Propagandists
While Oleg Bessedin’s popular Facebook group Таллиннцы (Tallinners) was hijacked for several weeks, the well-known propagandist significantly increased the viewership of his YouTube channel by promoting Russia’s new “wonder weapon” Oreshnik.
In early December, Bessedin’s YouTube channel had 76,000 subscribers. That number soared to 96,000 in a matter of days. Previously, the average view count for his videos ranged from a few thousand to several tens of thousands, with only 20 videos having surpassed the 100,000-view mark. However, his two most popular videos published in the past month have now reached 2.8 and 2.4 million views, respectively.
